The best and most recient Venezuelan films,

from May 14th to the 17th, at the Koubek Center. 

Miami .- The city is home to the largest community of Venezuelans abroad, and will host the first edition of CINEMA VENEZUELA, a traveling exhibition featuring the most successful movies in recent history of Venezuelan film. The event will take place at the Koubek Center in Miami, from May 14th to the 17th.

The selection of films includes the popular movie “Papita, Maní, Toston” by Luis Carlos Hueck, a baseball story that broke box office records in Venezuela, the internationally recognized “Azul y no Tan Rosa”  by Miguel Ferrari, winner of the Goya Award for Best Latin American Film, the winner of “La Concha de Oro” at the Festival of San Sebastián 2013, “Pelo Malo” by Mariana Rondon, “Liz en Septiembre” by Fina Torres, that be the film screened on the opening night of the event, “La Distancia Más Larga” by Claudia Pinto, “Dos de Trebol” by Orlando Rosales and Jessica Wenzelmann, “Nena, salúdame al Diego” by Andrea Herrera Catala and “Esclavo de Dios” by Joel Novoa.


Venezuela’s film industry is experiencing one of its best moments, new directors and proposals have emerged in recent years and with it has come the international recognition and the general public. In 2014, 40 films of national production were released in Venezuela. A true record for the industry.

For four days the Venezuelan community and film lovers in general, will be able to discover and enjoy this new phase of film production in Venezuela, characterized by its diversity of themes, new actors and directors. All films that make up the sample will be presented in their original language, with English subtitles.

Cinema Venezuela was created by Indira Leal and Luis Alfredo Andarcia, and produced by Yulma Garcia and Kristy Espinoza, who hope to include among the activities some special performances with actors and directors, and the project also has the support of Manuel Gonzalez “Mago” creator of the visual identity, and Advantel Global Group as an official sponsor of the event.
